TED talks & I write.

Listen to Thandie Newton speak brilliantly and honestly about the notion of ‘self’.

If you are not familiar with TED talks yet, I invite you to be. With a new one everyday, it is like the ‘random article’ on Wikipedia but much better.

In other news, my first contribution to another website was published yesterday. It might be a little bit too Newcastle specific for most of you but you never know, you might decide to visit one day. Check out Urban Insider to read ‘Civic Walk : An Insider’s Tour of Newcastle’s Public Buildings” by yours truly.

Thandie Newton certainly is a graceful and eloquent speaker. She is fortunate to have found a craft or two in which to channel her energy and her “self.”

I agree with her point on one’s image and the unfortunate fact that though we may not even see ourselves as being of a specific color or religion, the eyes and attitude of others are often a reminder.

The trick is to rise above. Not all of us are born with the reflex to do so but years of practice increases our strength and ultimately leads to a very comfortable form of serenity.
